Description

If there truly is something that can be called the Great American Novel, Herman Melville's 1851 story of the crew of the Pequod, their crazy captain and the white whale he is obsessed over catching, is the closest thing we're going to get. Some brave souls have amassed a crew of their own to read all of Moby-Dick; or, The Whale over a weekend. Authors like Jonathan Ames, Jennifer Gilmore, Touré, as well as folks like Littleneck owner Aaron Lefkove, music writer Michaelangelo Matos, poet Eileen Myles and many others will be reading sections of the book starting on Friday night at WORD in Greenpoint, moving to Houing Works Bookstore and Molasses Books.
