Description

If there was justice in the world, ground-breaking master montagist Bruce Conner (1933-2008) would a household name, and Lady Gaga would be some obscure performance artist. But alas, Conner got lost in a channel change and his contributions to the world of music video are vastly unknown. On the occasion of completed restorations of five of Conner's most seminal works, the Anthology is feting the unpredictable artist with two programs of shorts dating back to 1959. Ranging from political time capsules to film/music mash-ups, the series includes films showcasing the complexities of Devo, Ray Charles, and Toni Basil set against images of atomic explosions, nude women, and test-tube experiments. Don't miss this opportunity to see this pioneer's brilliant body of video revisited on a big screen.
